What Does Socialist Mean To Puerto Rico?

    In Puerto Rico the term is associated with the Movimiento Socialista de Trabajadores – the Socialist Workers Movement.

    This democratic socialist revolutionary organisation is projected as being devoted to the self-organization as well as the self-emancipation of Puerto Rico's working-class. It aims at international unity with the various workers struggles all over the word. This organisation is commonly simply called the "MST", while its youth faction is called the Union de Juventudes Socialistas (that is, Union of Socialist Youth).

    In general, as a noun the term socialist refer to an advocate of socialism. It is frequently written as Socialist and refers to a person belonging to a political party or to a particular group which advocates socialism. As an adjective it means of, practising or promoting socialism. Socialist means of, constituting or belonging to a socialist party or to a political group.
