What Does Degenerative Illness Mean?

    A degenerative illness is also known as a degenerative disorder which is a condition which leads to a progressive loss of function. It usually signifies being marked by a continuing deterioration of cells and organs with loss of function.

    There are many such examples in medical history such as the term dystrophy which is any degenerative disorder which results from nutrition that is inadequate or faulty. Chorea could be any of a number of degenerative nervous disorders which are associated with spasmodic movements of the limbs and the body.

    Multiple sclerosis on the other hand is a chronic progressive disorder of the nervous system which involves the loss of the myelin sheath around some nerve fibres. Parkinson's disease, is another a degenerative disorder afflicting the central nervous system. It is characterized by tremors as well as impaired muscular coordination.
