No, 1/3 is bigger than 1/4. Suppose you had an orange and cut it into 2 equal size parts, you would have 1/2 (two halves), but cutting the same orange into 3 pieces (1/3) gives you slices that are smaller than half but bigger than if you cut it into 4 pieces (1/4).
