The folic acid are vitamin B and play  important role in the cell formation. Its use in pregnancy is of significant importance. It has some side effects like, abdominal distention, nausea, flatulence, sleep disturbances and loss of appetite. If your bleeding is not uterine then there can be infection in bladder or stones in kidney or ureters. Only doctor can differentiate this bleeding. The folic acid is not responsible for this.

You can go to www.wikipedia.org, the information there is great. It didn't say that it would cause bleeding, I think you should get in to see your o.b.g.y.n. As soon as you can, bleeding isn't normal in any pregnancy. Hope this helps. Good luck.
