    Vodafone Group is a Mobile phone operator based in Britain. It was founded by Sir Christopher Gent. It is the largest mobile telecommunications network company in the world. In June 30, 2006 Vodafone had 186.8 million proportionate customers. This was spread out across 27 markets within 5 continents. In the US, their customers are through their minority stake in Verizon Wireless. The name Vodafone is derived from the term, Voice data fone. This name was chosend to reflect the provision of voice and data services over mobile phones. Vodafone has a gigantic workforce at their disposal. The total number of employees that are working for Vodafone is 55,110 people. These employees are spread out across the world in the locations that they have markets in. The number of part time employees is 15%. This team has come together to make Vodafone the top mobile company in the industry.
