Yes, they can and they will.
First they take your car.
Then they sell it at auction.
Then they take the tiny amount they sold your car for and use it to attempt to pay off your loan. But most of the time (obviously) its not enough to pay the loan and they will come after you for what is left.
Not a fun thing.
