I Suffer From Acute Anxiety. Can I Use Aromatherapy To Cure It, And If So, How?

Answer Question

Is it the mental anxiety itself you're suffering from, or is it the physical sensations that go with anxiety that you want to stop?

Whatever's causing your anxiety, it's best here to say no, aromatherapy won't cure it.  In fact, aromatherapy and essential oils never provide the actual cure to any kind of complaint – they just activate your body's own internal healing mechanisms.

However, that's not to say it can't help you with your symptoms.

It's definitely worthwhile consulting a qualified practitioner if you haven't done so already, to discover the root cause of your anxiety and deal with it.

In the meantime, though, here's an essential oil recipe to help ease your mind and calm those symptoms:

25 drops Lavender, to calm and soothe you
9 drops Geranium, to bring your body functions back into balance
18 drops Sandalwood, to bring courage and reduce irrational fears

Mix the essential oils with 100ml cold-pressed vegetable, nut or seed oil to make up a massage lotion for use on a regular basis, and store it in the fridge, in a small glass bottle.
