How Do You Recycle Tires?

A good way to recycle old tires is to use them as outdoor planters. Place the tire in a place in your garden that is appropriate for the plant you want to use. Put a lining inside the tire and add large rocks or gravel to weigh down the tire and provide drainage. Then add a layer of potting compost. Finally plant some pretty flowers, like rose moss. It is a hardy as well as colourful species. The flower's rustic look compliments the weathered appearance of an old tire. Another idea is geraniums, which are also fairly hardy. One other typical use for a tire is as a child's swing. A strong rope is tied around the tire to create a swing. It is certainly worthwhile to find a good use for discarded tires. In today's world of environmental worries, any resource that is rescued from wastage has to be a good thing!
