Why An Electromagnetic Wave Is A Transverse Wave?

    Transverse waves are those waves in which oscillations of the waves are perpendicular to the propagation of waves. If oscillations occur in y-z plane then propagation of wave will be along x-axis. They transfer of the energy is in the direction of wave. Electromagnetic waves consist of two transverse waves that are magnetic and electric waves. Electric and magnetic waves oscillates perpendicular to each other and they transfer energy in the direction normal to both electric and magnetic waves. Furthermore, visible light is an example of electromagnetic waves.
