How Your Nervous System Helps Your Body Maintain Homeostasis?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Homeostasis is maintained in our body by the brain through feed-back mechanisms.every homeostatic mechanism has a receptor an effector and a control center.when the receptor senses a change in the environment it sends a stimulus to the control center which most of the times is the brain.when the control center receives the stimulus it decides what to do to maintain the homeostasis through a mechanism called feed-back which can be positive or negative.the positive feed-back increases a variable that has dropped and the negative feed-back decreases a variable that has increased.an example of negative feed-back is when a person has fever the body temperature increases and through negative feed-back it drops until it reaches the normal value.
