What Are The Causes Of The Civil War?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The civil war was fought over many reasons and the primary one was slavery. The south wanted slavery to be legal so that they could have slaves on their cotton and tobacco plantations so that they made more money. Meanwhile the north wanted slavery abolished and that was way lincoln stood for and that's what he was shot for (shot by john wilks booth). The war waged on and in the end the north was the victor despite licolns assasination. I hope that helps you please rate the answer.
