The doctors could tell you in more detail. But according to my own experience, the other person will become red like a tomato and act weird.

Sometimes oddities like increase in blinking, breaking eye contact at the pertinent point, It can be a bit like "like the tell" in gambling.  Rub of the chin, scratch of the head, adjusting body position...etc

FBI profiler stated when they look off to the opposite side of their right or left hand meaning if their right handed they'll look off to the left and if there left they'll look to the right. Also they'll add in a lot of justification like instead saying I went to the store. They'll give you a whole freaking story. I went to the store went down aisle ten picked up some fruit blah blah blah there was a sale on ground beef, blah blah blah. I mean they'll give you a long story when all they had to say was I WENT TO THE STORE in their mind they're justifying the actions they know their in the wrong for.

According to Judge Judy yesterday on TV- If you ask the person a question and they repeat the question back to you. It gives them a moment to think about an untrue answer.  If  the person you're talking to breaks eye contact.  If the person turns red or kinda scratches their cheek.  I LOVE JUDGE JUDY!!

These are all good, some I knew, others are new(OMG). When the lyer is speaking directly to you but focusing their eyes just above your head. The repeat of a question with puzzlement as if they did not understand what you asked. Blinking and body movements that distract. Enlarging the eyes and a forced tone to their voice. Speaking louder or quieter than normal. These are the clues I look for.
