What Planet Has A Moon Named Charon?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Technically, no planet has a moon named Charon.

While Pluto does have three moons, one of which is named Charon, Pluto is no longer considered a planet by the IAU (International Astronomy Union).

Pluto is now considered a dwarf planet or a plutoid, both of which are subcategories of an actual planet; nevertheless, Pluto is not a planet itself. This is mainly due to its orbiting in an asteroid belt.
