Hmmmmm......."Why is the sky so big?"........Well first of all....God wanted it that way. Second of all, we are one of the planets in one gigantic galaxy(Milky Way)....third of all we are not the only galaxy out there.......were probably in a bigger galaxy and don't know it. We have like ten thousand atmospheres that protect us from all the crazy stuff that happens in space. The sky is very vast and goes on forever........and really....only God knows why the sky is so freaking huge!!!!!!!!! You should ask him sometime why it is so big..........I probably didn't help you too much to answer the question but you gotta give me kudos for trying .........lol!!!!

By sky I think your referring to the atmosphere. Without thinking about it too hard I think it's probably quite small. It just seems so big because we are so tiny in comparison. When you look at it from space it seems to be a very thin layer of air surrounding the earth. If asked this question again I think I would say because we are so small.
