There are many good books around. Think about which genres interest you. For example, if you enjoy watching crime programmes on television, then you could try reading a crime novel. Think about your favourite films. If you enjoy fantasy film adaptations of novels, such as The Lord of the Rings, or The Harry Potter series then try out the actual books.

If dramas appeal to you, then try out some novels with drama in them, such as Charles Dickens or Jane Austen. Obviously their books have been around for a while, but they are still classics which you may enjoy, depending on your taste. Or perhaps try out some horror novels if you like this genre. Stephen King's books are hugely popular, so try them out and see what you think.
