What Is Moral Integrity?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Moral integrity is a very abstract term. It refers to a moral value and an ethical notion which is complex by nature. Many philosophers and theologians have tried to explain and describe this concept. The most satisfying one is that it is a virtue that lays the foundation for all other virtues and is thus fundamental to all others.

It can be explained as the belief in their own moral ethics and the conviction to stick by them even during times of adversity and misfortune. Therefore a person who is capable of sticking to his ethics even during hardtimes is said to have moral integrity. Many erroneously explain it as a sort of rigidity but on the other hand it more about the wholesomeness of the character and the steadfastness in the adherence of these ethics.

This is one of the most intelligent responses I've read on this site. I was beginning to think there were no intelligent human beings out there.
