    Richmond is a ward in the district of Sheffield. Sheffield is a city in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of South Yorkshire. It has a total population of about 17, 300 inhabitants. The ward of Richmond includes the districts of Four Lane Ends, Intake, Richmond and Woodthorpe. It is one of the 28 electoral wards in the city of Sheffield. It is located in the southern part of Sheffield. It covers a total area of four-and-a-half square kilometres. On a map of Richmond, the town is always shown to be a part of Richmond.

    Richmond falls under the United Kingdom parliamentary constituency of Sheffield Heeley. Intake is located to the south of Manor Top. It is a residential area dating back to the 1930's. It is most famous as the place where Jarvis Crocker grew up. Jarvis Crocker was born in Sheffield on September 19, 1963. He is an English pop singer and the frontman of the band Pulp. Woodthorpe is a suburb that lies to the east of Intake. There is one pub named the High Noon in Woodthorpe. The new Woodthorpe primary school was completed in September 2005.
