When Has Amsterdam (Netherlands) Hosted The Eurovision Song Contest?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Netherlands hosted the Eurovision Song Contest four times in the years 1958, 1970, 1976 and 1980.

The Netherlands also has the distinction of being one of the seven nations that competed in the first Eurovision Song Contest in the year 1956. Till today, it has not competed in only four contests. In the years 1985 and 1991, the Netherlands was out of the competition as it took place on the Remembrance Day of the dead on the fourth of May. In the year 1995 it did not participate as its rank was extremely low in the preceding year, and it did not compete for the same reason in the year 2002.

With four contest wins to its name, the Netherlands rates in the top ten list of most triumphant Eurovision nations. However, the track record of this nation has been very dismal in the course of the last decade.
