Answer Question

The story '1408', about a haunted room in a hotel that a person who shows up paranormal events as being nonsense and fake checks into and the subsequent events, is written by the renowned author from the horror genre, Stephen King. The adaptation of this story has been made into a movie going by the same name as the story. The original King story is not a separate book or even a novella, as it is a very short story and fits into the short story mould. It is part of the collection of King's stories that have been published as a book of short stories titled Everything's Eventual.

Stephen King himself was inspired to write this story after reading about Christopher Bacon, a real-life parapsychologist who was investigating the happenings at a real room in the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, California with a team of researchers. The activities of Christopher Bacon and his team were much publicized in the media, and King is said to have used this as background and research material for him to actually write the story of 1408. The original book, therefore, can be attributed to Stephen King himself.
