    The Caribbean can be defined as relating to a Carib. A Carib is a person belonging to the American Indian populace who lives in southern America, the Lesser Antilles and Central America.

    Geographically the Caribbean consists of the entire Caribbean Sea including its islands and all the surrounding coastlines. Its exact geographic location is east of Central America, southeast of North America, and west and north of Southern America. The Caribbean consists of more than seven thousand cays, reefs and islands.

    The West Indies is a prominent part of the Caribbean. It includes the Antilles, which is divided into the Lesser Antilles on the east and south, the Greater Antilles and the Bahamas. The sunny coastlines and warm climates coupled with its natural beauty make the area a very popular tourist destination.
