It's difficult to explain a stacked haircut, but I will try.
You must have one length hair, (no layers) to get this cut unless the shortest layer is quite long.
Starting at the bottom, the hair is cut at the neck line, then the remaining hair is brought down and cut at a 45 degree angle so that the layers will stack up. This creates fullness at the neck line and is a very good looking haircut.
You could go to a salon and ask to look at some of their hairstyle books. The stylist will be happy to show you pictures of stacked hair cuts.
