How Can I Improve My Credit ?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

In the UK, improving credit means having credit and showing that you are able to make timely repayments.  Often young people or people with no credit can get very angry or indignant thinking that they have great credit history because they've never had any in the past.  Borrowing is the key to credit.  An agency stores your credit information and a potential lender scans that information first before deciding whether to lend you money or goods on credit.

Having a mortgage is the best way to improve your credit rating, because mortgages are considered as weighty borrowing.

If you wish to improve your credit and you feel that it is low, you could try getting a low end (high interest) credit card or purchase via a 'club book or catalogue' where you receive the goods and pay by installments, that is the fastest and easiest way to improve your credit.

Also, get on the voters roll, it also improves your credit rating and make sure that you disassociate yourself from anyone in your home who has bad credit!

There is one and only aspect that you need to take care of to improve your credit and that is to discipline yourself. When you discipline yourself, you will pay all the installments of the loan that you have taken and your credit will improve automatically.

You can also bring discipline in other aspects of your life and you should imbued the habit of saving money so that you should require less amount of money on credit and when you have less amount to pay for credit, it will automatically become an easy task for you to pay the amount on time.

If you perform the abovementioned tasks, you are expected to improve your credit and when you improve your credit, you can avail more amounts on credit if you wish.
