Are There Any Good Alternative Rock Groups That I Should Listen To?

The Shins, Neutral Milk Hotel, anything associated with old Modest Mouse or Isaac Brock, the Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Love and Rockets, The Cure, Belle and Sabastian, Ben Kweller, Bikini Kill, The Black Lips, Built to Spill, Cat Power, Metric, Ween, Of Montreal, Nick Cave, T.V. On the Radio...to name a few more mainstream alternative bands. If none of them work for you, you can try Audio Adrenaline or D.C. Talk. They rock the face off the words both "Rock" and "Roll".

There's so many good ones.  nickelback, 3 doors down, seether, saving abel, blink 182, good charolette. there's a group here on blurtit it's called The AR lovers.  you might want to check it out.

I don't know if you are into Christian rock but check out Audio Adrenaline. I love them, and my favorite CD is "Worldwide"  Have fun!  :}

If you like rock music, you should trying listening to some classic rock, and giving a few old bands a go. I used to only listen to modern rock too until I started getting into the classic bands like Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Van Halen, Def Leppard that sort of thing, anything after 1970. Most are so much better than bands today, the best songs in the world are from before those sort of bands, like 'Stairway to heaven', 'You shook me all night long' etc. I'm only 18 by the way...

It depends what you define as Alternative rock really, but a few good bands at the moment are Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Muse, The Black Keys, The Verve, The White Stripes ...  Just off the top of my head.
