Can You Help? Trig- 90degree Triangle -angle 1&2 Sin Cos Tan Find Angle 1 - Opp. =1.7 , Adj.= 2.3

Answer Question

    Without knowing the hypotenuse, you can find only the Tan from the given information.

    Tan[angle] = opp/adj = 1.7/2.3 ≈ .73913
    angle = Tan-1[1.7/2.3] ≈ 36.469°.

    You can compute the hypotenuse using the Pythagorean Theorem.
    h2 = opp2 + adj2 = 2.89 + 5.29 = 8.18
    h ≈ 2.86

    Sin[angle] = opp/h ≈ 1.7/2.86 ≈.5944
    Cos[angle] = adj/h ≈ 2.3/2.86 ≈ .8042
