How Were The Marin Headlands Formed?

    Marin Headlands are located at the North of the Golden Gate Bridge and are part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.  It gives stunning view of Bay Area of the Bridge.

    It is basically a hilly area which is located at the south of Marin County in California. This area has a history of its own. They are said to be formed by accretion of oceanic sediments. These sediments were formed onto the North American plate. They are formed by various elements such as serpentinite, radiolarian Chert, Sandstone etc.

    It is also said that these elements came from different parts of the area such as Los Angeles and their formation was a matter of centuries.
