What Are The Major Works Of Allan Cunningham?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are a few major works the credit of which goes to Alan Cunningham and prime among them are Lives of Eminent British Painters, Sir Marmaduke Maxwell and The King of Peak.

Though he wrote a few works, he could not attain the fame that he deserved. The reason behind the phenomenon is that he used a lot of rhetoric in his work and that that made his work a lot too ambitious and in consequence readers get distracted from it. But even after the rhetoric some of his songs attained the status only a few of the lyrics attained in Britain.

One of his songs 'A wet Sheet and a Flowing' is considered as among the best songs that have ever been written and have their basis on sea. Some other songs of his also gained popularity but his prose can hardly be known to the world.
