I started having braxton hicks contractions earlier than that; it is very normal.  Your uterus is contracting because you're expanding.  I went to the doctor a few times because of this when I was pregnant, and there really isn't anything anyone can do.  All the doctor will tell you to do is take it easy and to definitely drink LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER.  Good luck and don't forget to drink water!!

I am 20 weeks pregnant and started getting B-H contractions on Friday. Mine were caused from an extreme level of stress. I have already discussed this with my Dr and I just have to get rest and drink lots of fluid. I didnt understand what was going on b/c I thought you only got B-H close to birth. My whole stomach will tighten and even raise a bit. I start to get short of breath and all i want to do is curl up b/c it hurts to stand up. I am still under the same amount of stress, if not more and the B-H are still coming and going. Its easier said than done to not stress but I found mine get better when I lay down and take really deep breaths. I dont know if they will become dangerous!!!!!!
