The bible is written in different contexts so people can understand them better. There's nothing wrong with that. It's like how there's modernized versions of shakespeare for school, its so we can understand better. And there's always the original old English or Hebrew in the case of the bible to compare to, so you can see the original more in depth meanings of certain phrases. Preachers who went to seminary were equipped with information about Hebrew and the bible & should always be ready to explain to those who want to know, like you!

Each religion has a verson because it is what they believe that their prophets have seen or saw. With in each religion like Christianity you have the different types because each branch has their own beliefs and their versions of the bible are written to reflect that division. There are times kings or other people in powere have felt that things should be edited out or changes  to fit the times

To answer your question on the witness side, my friend is a witness.  They use any bible.  They use the same bible we use, but they also have their own bible.  The reason they have their own bible is that they've put God's name back into the bible.  If you look at any bible of any religion but I want you to look at the older versions of the bible then you will see that all the old bibles used Gods name and that is Jehovah but the newer versions of our bibles Gods name don't appear.  I don't know why there are so many different religions but all I know is that there can only be one God.  God created the earth for us to live in and logic tells me that if there is more than one God then there must be more than one earth because many Gods can't create the same one earth we all live on.  There are deferent languages because the bible is a very difficult book and it makes it easier to understand if you read the bible in your own langue.

      I hope my contribution helped.

And its not even so much different bibles for different religions.....it can be as simple as different interpretations and translations of the bible.  Keep in mind that the Bible has been rewritten numerous times over the past 2000 years or more years (for the old testament) as different scholars decide that one word works better than another word.  Sometimes, the Bible has even been edited by the Church for political or religious purposes.  And then even if two words are similar some will insist one way is the correct way and the other word means something totally different--which can lead to splits in religion.  While describing the devil as a serpent and a snake could be seen as essentially the same thing, sometimes you will get people who say that no, a serpent is different from a snake...

I would say because there are different versions of the bible.  Because we all have our different beliefs and religions we choose to follow.

Because is convenient.  I think some people didn't totally agree with one bible so. They created their own adding or subtraction to the best of their convenience.
