Who Spies On Hamlet?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Several people do this - his old friends Rosenkrantz and Guildernstern are invited to the Danish court by king Claudius, seemingly to cheer Hamlet up but really to find out what he is thinking/planning and report back to the king. Polonius also spies constantly on Hamlet, eavesdropping on his conversations - this leads to his death as Hamlet mistakenly stabs him when he catches him hiding in his (Hamlet's) mother's room, listening to their conversation.
