I think that is a matter of preference. My wife and I didn't plan our 2 1/2-year-old son, but we got him all the same. Now, we have been trying for over a year to have another, with no luck. I think you may feel pressured to succeed when you are planning, and every period you have will feel like failure. At least, that's how it's been for my wife.

People who plan it are always the ones who have the most trouble because they have sex on certain days and do things that actually hinder them more than help. It is better to just go with the flow and if/when it happens,it happens.
