Is The Bill Of Sale Different From The Car Title?

I bought a jeep Cherokee from some one, but they only gave me the bill of sale, because the person who sold it to me bought it in a auction, so he told me he will give me the car title in about 7 to 14 days... so i really dont know if its true

The title should have been signed over at the bank at the time of sale if you took out a loan, Or signed over to you when you paid in full.

I hope you paid by check as a receipt for proof of purchase or you may end up in court trying to get the title.....

This person may be trying to presale a vehicle that he or she does not yet own.........for more of a profit than they can turn it for.Or they paid in full at auction and didn't want the vehicle after they purchased it.

Never pay first for anything without receiving the legal documentation.

The bill of sale is a receipt for the purchase of the vehicle. A car title is how the car is registered in your state so that you can get registration and tags for the vehicle. Also a car title is used to sell or transfer the vehicle from one entity to another.
