Do I Have To Be 21 To Buy Liquor In A Duty Free Shop As I Head Into Canada?

For the summer, I am living in Northern Washington during the week, and in Canada on the weekends. Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I'm wondering if I can buy liquor at a duty free shop before I cross into Canada even though I am only 20. Anyone have any idea? If I can, how much can I buy and how often?

So long as you are in the country of Canada you need only be 18. You must however remain there for 24 or 48 hours (i can't remember) or you'll have to pay duty on what you bought. Coming back, you will need to deal with the laws of the state you are entering regarding possession etc..
