In British Law, What Is The Difference Between A Contract And A Covenant?

I would like to know how enforcable covenants are on a priovate housing estate, controlled by a management committee?

    A contract is an agreement whereas a covenant may be a contract or an undertaking (promise) to perform.

    Thank you robtender, I am most obliged for your help. Can I seek a little further clarification? Is it then the case that a covenant would be voided were it becoming draconian and more severe than the existing British Law?

      It depends on the facts of the case, including the circumstances under which the governing agreement was signed.
