Aerial photographs are photos that are taken from "up in the air". They are usually taken by a person or camera which is in an airplane or other flying machine. They usually take a picture of the ground below which allows people who look at the photos to see the layout of the ground, any roads, buildings, etc which are there. It is a perspective that a person can not usually see except from this high vantage point.
