Escitalopram is an antidepressant of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class  but is known to have some serious side effects such as constipation, heart burn, diarrhea and variation in sex drive or ability in some of the patients. It is better to refer your doctor who suggested this medicine if you experience any of these side effects.
