Where Are All The Pubs And Restaurants In Amsterdam?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Dutch love beer and they are also fond of their food. There are literally a thousand cafes, pubs and restaurants all over Amsterdam and one is never short of variety either. Amongst such a large number of cafes one may sometimes find it confusing to find a restaurant.

The cafes act as pubs and can be distinguished into two types "Bruine Cafes" and "Grand Cafes". Most cafes also provide something to eat. Café Chris in Bloemsraat 42, Café Karpershoek in Martelaargracht 2, Whisky Café L&B in Korte Leidsedwarsstraat 82-84, De Drie Fleschjes in Gravenstraat 18, Café Hoppe in Spui 18-20 are examples of Bruine Cafes. Royal Café de Kroon in Rembrandtplein 17-1, De Heeren van Aemstel in Thorbeckplein 5 and Grand Café Dulac in Haarlemmerstraat on the other hand are examples of Grand Cafes.

A plethora of fine dinning restaurants can be found in Rembrandtsplein in the side street of Regularaarsdwarstraat. Unfortunately for the heterosexual crowd most international cuisine restaurants are located near or next to the plusher Gay Bars.

Smaller and more themed restaurants can be found in the residential neighbourhood of the Jordaan area.
