Complete colour blindness is very rare, but there are a few people who can only see the world in shades of black, white and grey, rather like watching a black and white tv.
It is much more common for people to have some degree of colour blindness where people cannot see red, green or some shades of blue clearly enough to distinguish them. However, they will still be able to see any contrast, so if red is against white, they will be able to tell that there are two colours, but the red will not be clear to them.
Colour blindness is a condition which usually affects men and not women and it can often run in families. Someone who is colour blind will not be able to be an electrician, train driver or a pilot, since they have to be able to distinguish red and green very clearly. Car drivers learn the position of the lights and so can tell whether the red or green light is showing.

I have red-green color blindness. I can easily tell the colors of traffic lights from each other (although the green one actually looks white sometimes to me). It's not that we confuse red with green. I confuse colors when red is mixed with other colors...such as in purple. I also have a hard time telling green from brown except, for example, in a box of primary-colored crayons where no colors are mixtures of more than one color.
My brother is colored blind, just as a deer he can't see any colors what so ever. And he is an avid hunter so i don't see how he does it.Cause you have to see the Animals to shoot them,But he always brings something back.
