Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Although lead is more often than not associated with toxicity and health problems, it is actually quite a useful metal. Below, I am listing a few uses of the metal:

    -Manufacture of lead-acid storage batteries
-Manufacture of lead foil and shot lead which are both alloys including lead
    -Lead pipes
    -Covering cables
    -Lining laboratory sinks
-Flashings or other construction materials which use sheet lead
-White lead was used in cosmetics
    -As pigment in paint
-Manufacturing high quality lead crystal glass

Previously, it was also used to make toys and ornaments but this use has been reduced because of toxicity concerns about lead.
