Answers
Apart from the poles, Greenland, Australia and New Zealand, toads live in all parts of the world. Unlike frogs that live near water, toads can live further away from water than frogs can. Although both frogs and toads are amphibians but the toads have a tougher skin as compared with frogs so the water does not vaporize and dry out that easy as a frog's. Toads normally rest in the days in burrows or trees where they are undetected under the leaves however, they hibernate only in burrows. The species of toad normally found in the states is Fowler's toad.
