How Are Wars Hurting Soldiers And The Families Of The Soldiers Today?

I am a soldiers wife. We have a 3 year old and a baby on the way. My husband deploys later this year and most likely will miss the birth of our second baby and not to mention all the holidays and our 3 year old's birthday. We have barely had time with him even though he works on base right now. We have moved so much that I don't ever want to move again even though we will a lot more. Where we live now has left me with no one so it will be a very big challenge to do this by myself. I just read another question about whether or not soldiers should be paid more and my answer is yes. I was very hurt to read some of the comments that were left by people who didn't agree. Yes my husband chose to join and yes it was his choice but does anyone stop to think that if no one did join on their own there would be a draft? Everyone was complaining that they can barely make it and could not afford more taxes. Imagine barely making it but also doing without your loved one, your kids doing with out their other parent, and for a year at a time worrying if they are okay and if you are ever going to see them again, and if your kids are going to have both parents ever again. You wouldn't have to raise taxes anyway to pay them more. Movie stars make more then people actually making a difference in this world and doing without. There is no price you could pay a soldier with a family for it to be worth the time they are away but better pay and more respect would help in some ways but not all. These wars that involve are loved ones to be gone long periods of time are painful. I don't know the half of what they actually go through but I do know what my child and I go through and it is painful every single day. His brother is also deployed so imagine how his mom sleeps at night. My husband's freedom was taken away so you can still have yours and his whole family suffers right along with him.
