Where Is Plano ?

Plano is the name of a city near Dallas. It was incorporated as a city in the year 1873. Being situated largely in a farm and cattle locality, Plano is a hotbed for financial and commercial activity. The main offices or headquarters of several big national organisations are located here.

The city generates a lot of industrial equipment including plumbing supplies, paper, metal equipment as well as apparatus required for communications. The city became accessible by rail in the year 1872, but was nearly ruined due to fire in the year 1881.

The city started developing on a large scale during the 1970s. Great office compounds and housing societies were established towards the end of the twentieth century. It is today one of America's most rapidly growing cities.

Famous past or current residents of Plano include: Lance Armstrong and Steve Harvey.
