"Dance with the Devil" by Sherrilyn Kenyon, is another book from the series of "Dark-Hunter". In this book Zarek is considered as the most dangerous Dark-Hunter among all. He bore his life as a Roman servant and centuries, being a Dark-Hunter in banish. He is a person who cannot trust anyone. Because of his disobedience and refusal to follow any command, he is kept in loneliness in Alaska. Here his activity and actions are minutely monitored and are limited.

Many Dark-Hunters  are afraid that he would one day lose his powers against vampires as well as humans. Nine Hundred years of exile has made him too cruel to be redeemed. All the Gods want him dead but unwillingly they allow the goddess of Justice Astrid to judge Zarek. Astrid had never sentenced a man as innocent, and yet she has a soft corner for Zarek. But when Astrid tries to keep herself impartial with Zarek whom she finds very attractive, a contract killer is already on his way sent by the Gods. To know what happens next I would suggest you to read "Dance with the Devil".
