    Who Is Liable For Damages To A Car That Is Repossessed In Oregon: The Loan Company Or The Repossession Company?

    In Oregon my car was repossessed. I paid my loan company in full and received my car back but it has been damaged. Who would be liable for the damage to it - the repossession company or the loan company?

    I hate to be the individual to bear bad news, but the person who allowed (didn't keep up payments) the vehicle to be repossessed is responsible for any and all damages as a result of the repo. The law looks upon the damages as if they would of never occurred if the person had not violated the terms of the purchasing contract.

      My car5 wa 2 wks late on pmt. was repoed full tank of gas driven out whiled in possession of repo people and front of it wrecked. the wrecking yard repo people only gave me 10.00 for the gas that was missing but denied driving it or wrecking it. i took pictures of it.Am i responsible for the damages?
