Vatican City or the State of the Vatican City is an autonomous or independent papal state. It is located in the southern part of Europe. The state is within the commune of Rome of Italy. The total area of the state of Vatican is about 108.7 acres. According to the census report of the year of 2001, the total population was estimated about 900. The medieval walls and renaissance walls of the state formed Vatican's boundary except on the south eastern part at St. Peters Square. This is a miniature nation within the wall as the boundary. The nation has its own diplomatic missions, news papers, post office, radio station, banking system and the boundaries are concerned with about a hundred Swiss guards. The city also has its own publishing house.
