What Is A Good Herbal Bath Recipe For Aching Muscles?

    This is an excellent remedy to use for tired, sore muscles, right before bedtime.  Mix together the following dried herbs:  1/2 cup clary sage, 1/4 cup wormwood, 1/4 cup comfrey root, 1/2 cup pennyroyal, 1/4 cup chamomile, 1/2 cup strawberry leaf, 1/4 cup white willow bark.  Take one cup of this mixture and heat it in 2 quarts of water.  Use a non-metal pot.  Simmer, do not boil, for at least 10 minutes and not longer than 20 minutes.  Strain and pour the liquid into a warm or hot bath.  Take the rest of the dry herb mixture and tie it into a cheesecloth or wash cloth, to make a pouch.  While in the bath, rub your body, particularly your sore muscles, with the herb pouch.

    After the bath, cover your sore muscles with warm, breathable clothing, such as cotton pyjamas, and go to bed.  You'll feel much better in the morning.
