Well it depends upon which state you live in. After your bankruptcy is discharged you have to wait for two to three years to be eligible for a mortgage.

I can only see part of this answer and i want to add that if you are in a chapter 13 bk,after being in it for at least a year and with the approval of the court trustee, you can get a mortgage thru FHA financing.during that year you must have been on time with your payments and you do not have to be out of the chapter 13 to qualify.

Yes ! Two people i know very close to me both filed a 13, and purchased a home w-in 4 years of filing. The first two years to three is hard to get anything especially if you have not been on your job for more than a few years and have kept of all payments on anything you may still have out there. But yes it is possible. It also like the gentleman said above depends on the state you live in.
