    Jenin basically is a small city situated in West Bank; it is a key agricultural center. Jenin also refers to the neighboring Jenin Refugee Camp it is also the name for the surrounding region inside West bank.

    Thought meant to be under the management of Palestinian Authority, it was recaptured by Israel after carrying out Operation Defensive Shield in the year 2002. According to assumptions made the total population of Jenin in the year 1997 was around thirty four thousand, all of whom were Palestinians.

    The Jenin refugee camp is the home to approximately thirteen thousand refugees. On the basis of the stats given by UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) nearly 42.3% of the people living in this refugee camps are below the age of fifteen. The total population of the whole Jenin region is more than 250,000.
