The value of Lecturing Hours in Distance Learning Modules would be equivalent to the value of Lecturing Hours in a formal classroom. If, lectures are presented via video telecommunications over the Internet this would be like sitting in a classroom listening to a lecture. It would be similar to the video conferences held on a national or international basis for large corporations.
The lecture sessions would be at a preset time and date. You listen to the lecture, while at your computer. In some cases this is done in an interactive way, in which there would be conversation between you and the lecturer. In other cases you simply turn on your speakers and listen to the lecture.
Of course this would require you being present at the designated time and you would need to be certain you would have no interruptions during the lecture. You would not be able to start and stop the lecture as you would a television program for instance. The value of such lectures would depend upon your attention to the lecture. The old saying, "You get out of it what you put into it," would apply in this case.
If, this could not be accomplished in Distance Learning Modules then the course itself would be lacking in the information you need to pass the examinations, which are a part of the learning process. So, be assured the value of lecturing hours for a distance learning modules would be equivalent to you sitting in a classroom or auditorium listening to a lecture.
