My Dachshund Is Very Sick. What Should I Do?

He has a very watery bowel movement and his eyes are big and black. He has not ate in the past couple of days. He was lost from home for about two weeks and when he came back home he has been like this every since. What is wrong with my dog?

You have no way of knowing what happened to him while he was gone.. He may have eaten something toxic, contracted a disease, or even have some sort of internal injuries from an unknown accident. He needs to be gone over by a vet to determine the cause if this has been going on for more than just a couple of days.

The first you should do without wasting time is to take it to a vet. It would greatly help to have an idea of what could have caused the sickness. Is it food she ate? Did she become sick all of a sudden or is it something that has happened gradually? While she may be prescribed to undergo treatment at home after diagnosis, be prepared for the fact that your Dachshund might need hospitalisation.
