Ammeter is an electric device which is used to measure the flow of current in an electric circuit. Ammeter measures current in amperes, milli-ampere and micro-ampere. An ammeter is always connected in series of an electric circuit to measure the magnitude of current. Galvanometer is also used to measure electric current. An ammeter is formed when a shunt resistance is connected parallel to the galvanometer.
